About Frances Cybenko, PMHNP-BC

Choosing care for your child is an important and often emotional decision.

Many parents come here after months—or even years—of trying to understand why their child is struggling with focus, emotions, or keeping up with daily expectations, even as they know how bright and capable their child truly is.

If that’s where you are, you’re not alone.

Who I Am

I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) specializing in pediatric ADHD evaluation and care.

My work focuses on helping children, adolescents, and their families better understand challenges related to attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and school performance.

I provide comprehensive, thoughtful evaluations designed to look beyond surface-level symptoms and understand the full picture of how a child is functioning at home, at school, and in daily life.

How I Help

Following evaluation, I work with families to develop a clear and individualized plan, which may include:

• Education and guidance for parents
• Support for executive functioning and daily routines
• Emotional regulation strategies
• Collaboration with schools or other providers when appropriate

My goal is to help children feel more confident, capable, and supported—both at home and in school.

Reassurance Section

Many children I work with are bright, motivated, and trying their best—but still struggling with organization, follow-through, or emotional overwhelm.

If you have been wondering whether something more may be going on, you do not need to have all the answers before reaching out.

Why I Do This

My passion for this work comes from both professional experience and personal understanding.

I have seen firsthand how children who are bright, curious, and capable can still struggle in ways that are often misunderstood—sometimes labeled as anxiety, behavioral concerns, or simply needing to “try harder.”

These children are often working much harder than others just to keep up.

I am deeply committed to helping families gain clarity, reduce frustration, and better understand how their child learns, functions, and experiences the world.

As both a clinician and a parent, I understand how deeply families want to support their children while searching for answers that truly make sense.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative, structured, and individualized. It’s about getting to know your whole child, not just checking off boxes.

A comprehensive ADHD evaluation includes careful consideration of:

• Developmental and medical history
• Attention and executive functioning
• Emotional regulation
• Parent observations at home
• School-related concerns

ADHD is diagnosed thoughtfully and only after a thorough evaluation. The goal is not simply to assign a diagnosis, but to understand what is truly contributing to a child’s challenges and how to best support them.
